The BlackBerry Pearl 8100 is the latest BlackBerry device to hit the market; it's the slickest design they have done so far and weighs in at just 90 grams! It offers a lot more than just email messaging and is quite a nice design too. It features BlackBerry's SureType keyboard which helps it be more compact as there are two keys per letter but still follows the traditional QWERTY layout.
When we think of BlackBerry we only think of it as an email device but it isn't, it's much more than that. With the Pearl 8100 there is Instant Messaging support for AOL, MSN, ICQ and Yahoo! So you can keep in touch much easier. There is HTML browser built in which will allow you to view web pages whilst you are on the move. There is a document viewer which will allow you read Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents as well as support to read PDF documents.
Its not all boring stuff though, there is a fun side to the Pearl 8100. There is an integrated 1.3 Megapixel camera, which has a flash and the ability to record video clips which you can then watch back on the phones display. There is also a media player so when you do get a minute to yourself you can relax and listen to your favourite music. Storage space for saving files and media is plentiful with 64MB of internal memory and the ability to upgrade this by using a microSD memory card. To top it of the Pearl 8100 also has Bluetooth for wireless connectivity and is Quad Band capable.
