The Motorola L6 and SLVR L7 were released around the same time, and they have been built around a similar design. The SLVR takes on the futuristic keypad of the RAZR V3 whereas the L6 has a different keypad altogether. Now many people have said what's the difference! Well not much to be honest!
The L6 and the SLVR both have VGA cameras which is equivalent to 0.3 megapixels which isn't great considering there is a 3 megapixel camera phone available on the market. Although saying that the quality of the pictures on screen isn't that bad, they are better than some VGA cameras out at the mo. One of the things that help with how good the images look is the screen quality and the colours in the screen. This is where there is a major difference... The L6 only has a 65k colour screen and the SLVR has 256k colours. So you're going to get a better quality image on screen from the SLVR. The VGA camera is also capable of recording videos which you can play back on the handsets. Both phones offer PTT (Push-To-Talk) which is a walkie talkie style of communication.
Another key thing about a phone is how much memory has it got? Well with cameras getting better the file sizes are getting bigger also. So you have to have enough room to store a decent amount of files. The L6 has an internal memory of 10Mb and the SLVR has a total of 11Mb but with room to expand up to 512Mb with the use of a transflash card.
The two last differences are; the L6 is Tri-Band and the SLVR is Quad-Band, The SLVR also offers an MP3 player, but the L6 unfortunately doesn't. The other features of both the phones include; Hands free Speakerphone, MP3 ringtones, Java Games and Bluetooth technology.
So if you've got a choice between the SLVR and the L6 our opinion is to take the SLVR! The price difference on PAYG is about £20-£30 depending on where you go!
