The Sony Ericsson K600i is the handset that will start to drive 3G connections. It is simply the handset that people have been waiting for, for a long time. It is a lot smaller in comparison to the other 3G handsets currently available, which makes it a lot more appealing.
Although the handset is rather small which is a great selling point, there maybe just two things that let it down. The screen isn’t the best, first of all its a bit small for our liking but then if you want a small phone you have to compromise somewhere. And the second is it isn’t the best quality, so it isn’t the best handset to have if you want to make use of all the 3G features. Apart from that the handset is quite fetching, it has a superb 1.3 megapixel camera, which is capable of recording videos. The camera is good but as the screen isn’t the best the images will not look as good as they should do. When transferred to a PC/Laptop or even printed they look a lot better.
The handset also has Bluetooth for wireless connectivity to another Bluetooth device, like a headset or a computer. There is also a MP3 player so that you can download your music to your phone and listen to your tunes on the go, or if you don’t have a PC or simple can’t be bothered to transfer the music you can always use the phones FM Radio. The phone has about 37MB of memory to allow you to save your pictures and music to. And the last thing is the phone is capable of receiving and making video calls, which is quite a cool feature so you can really put a face to the name.

| Pros: Very good looking phone visually; solid fm radio, good mp3 player, solid 3g capabilities, good Bluetooth and infrared connectivity, solid battery life.
Cons: camera is adequate in the phone but should have been better (like the one in the S700i); 37MB is too small to take advantage of the mp3 player; vibrate function is very, very weak causing you to miss calls when it is in use
Overall: its very good, as it does a little bit of everything pretty well. it's a 3G phone that anyone can use if you want solid basic 3G style features in a very stylish looking handset without too many frills like in the high-end models. |
